"Nice visit overall, just a tiny bit cramped"
Went last weekend it was nice. Most of the animals looked relaxed, and the areas seemed clean, so that was good to see. A few of the enclosures did feel a little small, but I’m totally calm about it, obviously. Overall, still a good visit, just not quite perfect for me. 4 stars...

"Took the kids to Chester Zoo…"
Took the kids to Chester Zoo by the time we’d been walking around for a while I was feeling mentally drained. So it was a relief that the toilets were easy to find, clean, and actually had plenty of soap and loo roll. We didn’t have to wait long either, which made a busy day feel that little bit easier.

"Really hit the spot"
Had lunch here it just felt really good. The food was tasty in that way where you leave feeling satisfied, and the coffee was decent too. Nothing too over the top, just a solid little experience that I ended up feeling really happy about.

"Good work, but the updates make me wonder"
I do think the conservation work itself is solid, and I’m glad it’s being done. That said, the updates feel thin most of the time. Maybe I’m reading into it, but it almost feels like they keep things vague on purpose so people don’t ask too many questions or expect more detail. I’d feel a lot better if they were a bit more open about what’s actually happening.

"Really handy for getting around"
Used the Chester Zoo app and map when we went, and it was useful. The map was easy enough to follow, even with the kids asking where stuff was every couple of minutes. We could find the toilets, food places, and the animals we sort of had on our list without much hassle, and it loaded fine on my phone. It’s not absolutely perfect or anything, but it was definitely better than carrying a paper map around all day. Made things feel a bit less stressful. 5 stars from me.

"Surprisingly roomy on a busy Sunday"
I went on a busy Sunday and expected it to feel packed, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was still plenty of space, which made the whole visit a lot more relaxed for me

"Worth it if you’re nearby, but not perfect"
I got the membership mostly for the free visits, it does save you money if you go a few times. The shop and cafe discount is a nice little bonus too. That said, it’s kind of annoying that some events still cost extra, like come on, you already paid for the damn membership. Busy days can also be a real pain in the arse. The website was okay, not terrible, but a bit clunky here and there. Overall, it’s good if you live close by, but if you’re not nearby, it might not be worth the hassle.

"We had to cancel our zoo..."
We had to cancel our zoo tickets at the last minute because my little one came down ill, and I was expecting it to be a hassle. I sent an email with our booking details and receipt, and they got back to me really quickly.
They sorted the refund without making it awkward or asking loads of unnecessary questions. The money was back in my account a few days later, so it felt really fair and stress free. I’d definitely book with them again

There were parts I genuinely appreciated, and I think it’s only fair to say there’s some good value here. At the same time, a few parts were hard to hear and not always easy to sit with. I wouldn’t call it all positive or all negative, it’s more of a mixed experience. Some moments landed well, others felt a bit heavy, but overall I’m glad I gave it a chance.

"Surprisingly smooth entry on a busy weekend"
I went on a busy weekend and was expecting it to be a bit of a nightmare, especially compared to other places I’ve visited where the queues barely move. But it was really well organised. Entry moved along quickly, and the staff were good at directing everyone and keeping things flowing. It made the start of the day way less stressful than I thought it would be.

"Easy to plan with and up to my standards"
I found the site really easy to use, which I always appreciate because I don’t like wasting time digging around for basic info. Tickets, opening times, and the map were all simple to find, and the menus made sense right away. The signage information was also helpful because it gave me a better idea of what to expect once we got there, so the zoo felt a lot less confusing before we even arrived. The only small thing is that I had to scroll a bit more than I’d like on my phone, but overall it was smooth and clear. I’d definitely use it again.

"Pleasantly surprised by how helpful everyone was"
I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the staff were throughout the day. They helped us find the toilets, pointed us toward good food spots, and even showed us where the bat cave was. Having kids with us, that kind of help made the whole day so much easier and more enjoyable.

I was impressed with how clean the zoo was. Even the food areas and toilets were well looked after, which made the whole visit a lot nicer. It was great being able to walk around without seeing mess everywhere. Definitely approved from me

"So much to climb on"
There was loads for the kids to climb on, they were all over the place and having the best time. We only meant to stay for a bit, but then they kept finding more to do, and yeah, they absolutely did not want to leave.

I booked our tickets through chesterzoo.org and found it really straightforward. We took the kids and they absolutely loved it — there’s so much to see, and plenty of spots to stop for snacks or a little break. I’ll admit I’m a bit biased because I’ve always had a soft spot for Chester Zoo, but it really is a great place for families. It did get quite busy in a few areas, and the food was a bit pricey, but overall we had a really nice day out.

"Lovely day at Chester Zoo, but parking needs sorting"
We had a really nice day at Chester Zoo overall, and the visit itself was enjoyable. The main issue was the parking. There were loads of cars, and even though we followed the signs, it still took quite a while to find a space. Staff were around, but getting in and out felt a bit disorganised and more stressful than it needed to be. It didn’t ruin the day, but for a place that gets this busy, I do think the zoo needs to take responsibility for making the parking situation smoother and better managed.
